Oxy 80 is a high-strength, extended-release form of oxycodone. It is prescribed for severe, persistent pain requiring continuous opioid treatment when safer options are inadequate.

Critical 80 mg warning

The 80 mg tablet is only for opioid-tolerant patients. For someone without established opioid tolerance, one tablet may cause fatal respiratory depression. It is not a starting dose or medication for occasional pain.

Swallow it whole—never crush, chew, dissolve, snort or inject it, as this can release a potentially fatal amount rapidly. Do not combine it with alcohol, alprazolam, clonazepam, morphine, hydromorphone, GHB or sleeping medications unless specifically managed by a prescriber. Oxycodone can cause dependence, overdose and life-threatening slowed breathing.
